Negotiation on Freezing Prices of Volume-Based Waste Bags and Operating Days for Good Price Businesses

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Hee-soo) recently held the Jindo-gun Consumer Policy Deliberation Committee to discuss local price stabilization and local public utility charges.

According to the county on the 5th, the Jindo-gun Consumer Policy Deliberation Committee deliberates on consumer protection and local price stabilization policies and holds regular quarterly meetings to revitalize the local economy and stabilize local prices.

At the meeting, the committee announced and promoted △ extension of the sale price of standard garbage bag for the volume-based waste fee system until the end of this year △ operation of the Jindo-gun Good Price Store Day at 13 locations △ shopping at traditional markets at least once a month △ purchase and use of Jindo Arirang gift certificates △ water bill discounts for price stabilization.

Additionally, the county plans to conduct a quarterly public-private cooperative relay price stabilization campaign and strive to create an atmosphere of price stabilization until the end of the year.

A representative from the Economic Energy Division of Jindo-gun said, “We will do our best to eradicate overcharging and leave a clean and friendly memory of Jindo for tourists visiting during the summer vacation season and for residents,” adding, “We plan to organize a price stabilization inspection team at summer resorts to continuously conduct inspections of inappropriate acts such as unmarked prices or origins, unfair charges, and measurement violations, as well as price stabilization campaigns.”
