KGC Ginseng Corporation Jeong Kwan Jang announced on the 5th that it has launched the red ginseng hangover remedy ‘Hwakkesam,’ which helps not only with hangover relief but also boosts vitality, and will exclusively sell it at GS25 convenience stores.
Hwakkesam contains a patented hangover relief composition uniquely blended by Jeong Kwan Jang’s technology, including 6-year-old red ginseng concentrate, Hovenia dulcis fruit extract, and fermented soybean embryo extract. According to market research firm NielsenIQ Korea, the domestic hangover remedy market reached 312.8 billion KRW last year, growing 39.5% compared to 224.3 billion KRW in 2021. Non-beverage hangover remedy sales more than doubled from 40.9 billion KRW in 2018 to 100.7 billion KRW in 2022, surpassing 100 billion KRW for the first time ever.
