Curly Opens Pyeongtaek Logistics Center... "Largest Scale Ever"
Approximately 220,000 Boxes Can Be Processed
Kurly announced on the 3rd that it has opened the 'Pyeongtaek Logistics Center,' equipped with the largest scale, systems, and environment in its history.
The Pyeongtaek Logistics Center is the largest among Kurly's logistics centers, spanning 8 floors and covering an area of 199,762㎡, equivalent to the size of 28 soccer fields. Like Kurly's existing logistics centers, it integrates processing spaces with different temperature zones?refrigerated, frozen, and room temperature?into one facility according to product type.
The Pyeongtaek Logistics Center houses the largest temperature-controlled center among Kurly's logistics bases. The temperature-controlled center is a space where indoor temperature is consistently maintained without influence from external weather conditions. It prevents quality degradation of room temperature products caused by high temperatures in summer and low temperatures in winter.
With state-of-the-art automation equipment, the Pyeongtaek Logistics Center can process approximately 220,000 orders per day. When combined with the daily order processing volumes of the Gimpo Logistics Center and the Southeast Logistics Center, which opened in April this year, Kurly's overall logistics productivity is expected to improve by about 20% compared to last year. The center mainly handles dawn delivery services for the southern Seoul metropolitan area, Gyeonggi Province, and parts of the Chungcheong region.
Meanwhile, Kurly prioritized hiring local talent from nearby areas even before the Pyeongtaek Logistics Center opened. Currently, more than 800 employees work at the Pyeongtaek Logistics Center. Large-scale recruitment is still ongoing, and new hires are provided with industry-leading working conditions and welfare benefits.
