Gyeonggi-do Conducts Joint Inspection of Residential and Public Housing Districts for Rainy Season... 100 Cases Detected
Gyeonggi Province is conducting on-site inspections focusing on large construction sites ahead of the rainy season.
View original imageGyeonggi Province announced on the 3rd that it conducted on-site inspections from May 22 to June 14 at 29 residential land and public housing districts within the province to prevent safety accidents during the rainy season, identifying and correcting 100 issues.
The inspection targets included a total of 29 sites: 7 residential land development districts such as Pyeongtaek Godeok Internationalization District, where construction is ongoing, and 22 public housing districts including Suwon Dangsujigu.
This inspection was conducted as a second round jointly by Gyeonggi Province, project implementers, and private experts, following a first self-inspection carried out by the project implementers or construction companies based on the initial inspection results.
The main inspection items were ▲ preparation and management status of safety management plans and manuals ▲ availability of flood control materials and equipment ▲ inspection of drainage facility installation status ▲ stability of slopes in cut and fill sections ▲ installation of safety facilities to prevent falls and dropping accidents ▲ installation of worker rest facilities ▲ provision status of cold beverages and saline solution (salt).
Gyeonggi Province found a total of 100 issues during the inspection.
Specifically, these included 45 cases of inadequate drainage facility management, 23 cases of insufficient slope protection measures in cut and fill sections, 6 cases of missing worker rest areas, and 26 other cases.
Among the identified issues, Gyeonggi Province completed corrective actions for 73 cases that could be immediately addressed or corrected, and instructed the managers of the residential land and public housing districts to promptly rectify the remaining 27 cases.

A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "We will thoroughly prepare by improving and supplementing safety issues in residential land and public housing districts within the province to prevent safety accidents caused by summer floods and heatwaves." He added, "We will continue to conduct safety inspections to create safer construction sites."
