In Baltimore, Maryland, on the East Coast of the United States, a shooting occurred in the early hours of the 2nd (local time), resulting in 2 deaths and 28 injuries, according to local media reports.
According to local media including the AP News, at around 12:30 a.m. that day, a gunman opened fire at a community festival held on Gretna Avenue in the Brooklyn neighborhood of South Baltimore. It is reported that hundreds of people had gathered at the scene for the annual event called 'Brooklyn Day.'
The Baltimore Police stated in a briefing that 2 people died and 28 were injured due to the gunfire. All victims are adults.
An 18-year-old woman was found dead at the scene, and a 20-year-old man died shortly after being transported to the hospital. The police reported that 3 of the injured are in critical condition.
The shooting suspect fled the scene and has not yet been identified. The police are investigating based on witness statements and other evidence.
