CJ Logistics, Transportation Platform 'The Unban' Grand Opening
CJ Logistics' digital transportation platform, ‘The Unban (the unban)’, is entering full-scale operation after a six-month pilot service. The activation of the platform, which applies a ‘direct matching’ method between shippers and carriers, signals a fundamental change in the freight transportation market, where a ‘multi-level’ transaction structure has been entrenched.
CJ Logistics announced on the 2nd that it has grandly opened by advancing the technology of the currently operating digital transportation platform ‘The Unban’. ‘The Unban’ is an intermediary platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and big data technology to find the optimal real-time freight rates and directly connect shippers and carriers. Since its launch in December last year, a pilot service has been operated targeting shippers and carriers.
AI autonomously finds and proposes the most suitable carrier according to the shipper’s registration information, providing a customized matching service that considers the carrier’s preferred driving routes. Additionally, transportation information such as cargo type, volume, and driving distance, along with external information like weather conditions, fuel prices, and seasonal factors, are analyzed by sophisticated algorithms to calculate the optimal real-time freight rates.
‘The Unban’ also features a function that predicts future traffic volume using big data technology to suggest optimal driving routes. By analyzing previously learned past traffic data, it shows the optimal routes and expected driving times not only for same-day transportation but also for routes to be performed in the future. Furthermore, blockchain technology has been applied to develop an electronic receipt that cannot be tampered with, and a ‘real-time return route system’ that matches carriers to load return cargo immediately after one-way transportation has been completed; this system is planned to be applied in the second half of the year.
As CJ Logistics embarks on full-scale operation, it is also strengthening its marketing strategy. Based on the slogan ‘Transporting transportation. The Unban’, it plans to produce brand stories and related content to communicate with the public through the renewed ‘The Unban’ website and SNS channels. It will also conduct various marketing activities through online communities that carriers are highly interested in and actively promote freight rate promotions targeting both shippers and carriers.
CJ Logistics plans to continue various marketing activities to enhance the operational capabilities and technological strength of ‘The Unban’ as well as increase awareness and user benefits.
