Slovenian Economic Delegation Visits Hyundai Motor Group Namyang Research Center
Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 2nd that on the 30th of last month, a Slovenian economic delegation led by Tanja Fajon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, visited the Namyang Research Center in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.

Deputy Prime Minister Tanja Fajon was accompanied by Matja? Han, Minister of Economic Development and Technology, Rok Kepl, Director of the Public Agency for Entrepreneurship, Internationalization, Foreign Investment and Technology, and Jernej M?ller, Ambassador of Slovenia to Korea. From Hyundai Motor Group, Kia President Song Ho-sung and Hyundai Motor Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Kim Yong-hwa welcomed the delegation.
The Deputy Prime Minister's party first received a comprehensive introduction to the Namyang Research Center, Hyundai Motor Group’s core R&D hub, at the design building, along with explanations on the development status of Hyundai Motor Group’s electric vehicles, hydrogen electric vehicles, and autonomous driving technologies, exchanging broad opinions on expanding future mobility.
Afterward, the Deputy Prime Minister’s party boarded the autonomous vehicle ‘Solati (large van) RoboShuttle’ and moved from the Namyang Research Center design building to the Kia Design Center.
The Solati RoboShuttle is equipped with Level 4 autonomous driving core technology that can perceive and judge driving situations and control the vehicle accordingly.
While traveling in Hyundai Motor Group’s autonomous vehicle, Deputy Prime Minister Tanja Fajon’s party naturally experienced Hyundai Motor Group’s autonomous driving technology capabilities.
At the Kia Design Center, the delegation viewed Hyundai Motor Group’s dedicated electric vehicle platform ‘E-GMP’ and key electrification vehicle components such as motors and batteries. They experienced advanced eco-friendly new technologies and new materials applied to the globally acclaimed ‘EV6’ and ‘EV9’ models.
The economic delegation showed empathy for Hyundai Motor Group’s efforts and commitment to pursuing a sustainable future not only in vehicle operation but also in the production process, by examining eco-friendly and recyclable materials such as bio-based polyurethane (PU) and plant-based materials applied to the EV9.
Hyundai Motor Group also provided a test drive session at the Namyang Research Center driving test track, allowing the economic delegation to directly experience the substantial performance and high product quality of the group’s core electrified vehicles, the EV6 GT and EV9.
