Suwon-si Conducts 'Serious Accident Prevention Inspections' at 258 Public Facilities
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will conduct the 'Mandatory Compliance Inspection of Public Facilities for the Prevention of Major Citizen Disasters in the First Half of the Year' from the 3rd to the 21st of this month.
During this period, inspection teams will check 258 public facilities including bridges, underpasses, daycare centers, welfare centers, nursing homes for the elderly, retaining walls, cultural and sports facilities, libraries, museums, art galleries, public health centers, and office buildings, Suwon City announced on the 2nd.
Earlier, on the 26th of last month, Suwon City conducted a preliminary training session for those responsible for public facilities subject to major citizen disaster regulations, providing guidance on key points of mandatory compliance inspections under the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and cooperation matters.

A Suwon City official stated, "Recently, with the collapse of a bridge in a neighboring local government, citizens' concerns about safety have increased," adding, "We will thoroughly manage facilities such as bridges and underpasses to prevent any safety accidents for users."
