The domestic OTT industry has welcomed its first female CEO. The protagonist is Choi Joo-hee, former CBO of Trendevi. On the 29th, CJ ENM announced, "Choi Joo-hee, former Business General Manager of Trendevi, has been appointed as the new CEO of its subsidiary Tving, and Kim Ji-won, former COO of Masspresso, has been appointed as head of CJ ENM Mnet Plus division." CJ ENM expects that the recruitment of these two female leaders born in the 1980s, who have driven the growth of numerous startups and IT companies, will lead the leap forward of the company's future business, the D2C platform business.
Born in 1982, CEO Choi holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology and a master's degree in Applied Statistics and Economics from Harvard University in the United States. She is a platform business expert who has led business strategies in content and e-commerce companies. After working at Boston Consulting Group, she was responsible for Asia and Korea business strategies at Walt Disney Korea and led the domestic launch preparations of Disney Plus. She oversaw overall business including strategy, sales, marketing, and IT as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of the online fashion platform 'W Concept' and as Business General Manager of the luxury e-commerce platform 'Trendevi.'
Born in 1980, management leader Kim has led various new platform businesses at major domestic conglomerates such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and NCSoft, as well as startups and foreign IT companies. After serving as Head of Korean Business and Senior Product Manager at Moloco, a global machine learning-based tech company headquartered in Silicon Valley, USA, she was Chief Product Officer (CPO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Masspresso, the developer of the global AI-based learning platform 'Qanda,' where she was responsible for service advancement and building revenue models among overall operations.

Meanwhile, Tving was launched as an independent corporation from CJ ENM in October 2020 and has established itself as the number one domestic OTT operator. Mnet Plus is a K-pop culture platform launched by CJ ENM last year. It offers Mnet Plus original IP, Mnet music content, KCON, and a community service involving artists, leveraging CJ ENM’s accumulated K-pop content library.
