[6.29 Cabinet Reshuffle] Im Sang-jun Appointed Vice Minister of Environment and National Agenda Secretary
On the 29th, President Yoon Suk-yeol appointed Lim Sang-jun, Secretary for National Tasks at the Presidential Office, as the new Vice Minister of Environment.
Vice Minister Lim was born in 1965 and holds a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Korea University. After passing the 37th Administrative Examination, he joined public service and has served as Deputy Director of the Integrated Promotion Team for Early Childhood Education and Care at the Office for Government Policy Coordination in 2015, Public Conflict Management Officer, and Planning and Coordination Policy Officer at the same office.
Vice Minister Lim is known for his deep understanding of national issues gained from his long tenure at the Office for Government Policy Coordination. His experience in reasonably mediating policy disagreements and conflicts in the environment and land sectors is cited as a key reason for his appointment. In 2019, he was highly evaluated by the government for resolving the legalization process of unauthorized livestock facilities.
