Park Ji-won Attends European Robotics Expo Just Before Doosan Robotics IPO
Germany Munich 'Automatica 2023'
Exploring Mega Trends in the Collaborative Robot Industry
Park Ji-won, Vice Chairman of Doosan Group, attended 'Automatica 2023' held in Munich, Germany on the 28th (local time) ahead of Doosan Robotics' initial public offering (IPO). Automatica is Europe's largest exhibition for robotics and automation technology solutions, where companies related to robotics, artificial intelligence, and digital solutions participate to build networks. Doosan Robotics, which showcased service and manufacturing solutions such as noodle making and welding, as well as software that enables collaborative robots to function without coding at last year's Automatica, plans to continue participating in this biennial exhibition.
Vice Chairman Park checked the latest product trends and assessed the global market situation at the global collaborative robot manufacturers' exhibition booths. He spent a long time reviewing technological capabilities at booths of companies related to autonomous mobile robots, 3D cameras, and automation solutions that will form an automation ecosystem together with Doosan collaborative robots. Park said, "Collaborative robots, which used to assist industrial robots and workers in repetitive tasks at manufacturing sites, are greatly expanding their range of applications by interacting with humans through artificial intelligence," and urged, "To secure a leading position in the growing collaborative robot market, let us actively explore new opportunities by cooperating with various companies."

Doosan Robotics began mass production of collaborative robots in 2017 and chose Automatica 2018 as its global debut stage to showcase collaborative robot products and automation process solutions. Currently, Doosan Robotics has the largest lineup among global collaborative robot manufacturers with 13 product lines, ranging from the H series that handles heavy loads up to 25 kg to the E series, which has excellent price competitiveness and is certified for food hygiene safety. Last year, it surpassed annual sales of 1,000 units for the second consecutive year.

Boston Consulting Group forecasted that the global collaborative robot market will grow at an average annual rate of 27%, expanding from 660 billion KRW last year to 1.93 trillion KRW by 2026. In this environment, Doosan Robotics formed a partnership with Rockwell, North America's largest automation solutions company operating in over 100 countries worldwide, in April this year to expand its global market share in collaborative robots.
