Busan City Creates 'Boogie×Pinkfong Baby Shark Photo Zone' at Panorama Haeundae
Communication Character 'Boogie' and 2030 World Expo Ambassador 'Baby Shark'
Filming at Haeundae Beach, Sending to Tourists via Email and Smartphone
Busan City has created a ‘Boogie×Pinkfong Baby Shark’ photo zone on the white sand beach of Haeundae Beach, linked with the ‘Panorama Haeundae Service’ that simultaneously captures landscapes and people as if taken by a drone.
Busan Seagull ‘Boogie’ is widely loved as Busan City's communication character, and ‘Pinkfong Baby Shark’ (hereafter Baby Shark) is a representative content intellectual property (IP) of South Korea, serving as the 5th promotional ambassador for the bid to host the 2030 Busan World Expo.
The ‘Boogie×Baby Shark’ sculpture was installed at the international departures hall of Gimhae Airport in March in preparation for the onsite inspection by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), and since June, it has been relocated to Haeundae Beach, Busan’s representative tourist destination, continuing promotional activities for the 2030 Busan World Expo.
The ‘Panorama Haeundae Service’ can be accessed by scanning a QR code with a smartphone at the photo zone on the white sand beach in front of the Haeundae Beach Tourist Information Center.
When the shooting button is pressed, two high-definition cameras installed on the rooftop of the tourist information center about 100 meters away capture the tourists’ images along with the panoramic view of Haeundae and send them via email or smartphone.
This service overcomes the limitations of the conventional method of shooting with a smartphone or selfie stick at tourist attractions, offering the advantage of capturing both the subject and the scenery simultaneously with an optimal angle of view.
