[Busan Is Ready] Korean Air Launches Aircraft to Support Expo Bid
Wrapping with Blackpink Photos
Promoting Across the Globe
Korean Air operated a special charter flight on the 18th, departing from Incheon and arriving in Paris, France. Onboard were over 200 people, including members of our bid committee and corporate bid representatives attending the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), held over two days starting from the 20th.
This charter flight featured a wrapping of photos of the internationally renowned K-pop group BLACKPINK as part of activities supporting the bid for the '2030 Busan World Expo.' As the national carrier, it served as the wings for Korea's private delegation while flying major European routes.
Korean Air employees are taking photos in front of the Blackpink-wrapped aircraft created to support the bid for the Busan World Expo.
Earlier, at the beginning of last month, the airline wrapped a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with BLACKPINK photos to support the Busan World Expo bid. Since then, the Busan World Expo bid promotional wrapped aircraft has played a role in promoting Korea's bid worldwide through Korean Air's global network, starting with flight KE901 from Incheon to Paris on the 4th of last month.
Cho Won-tae, Chairman of Hanjin Group, said at the special aircraft unveiling event last month, "It is a great honor to play a role in promoting the status of the Republic of Korea worldwide and to contribute to the bid for the Busan World Expo, which will be a new leap forward." He added, "Korean Air will fully utilize its global airline network to serve as an ambassador for promoting the Busan World Expo bid."

Korean Air is showing promotional videos for the Busan World Expo bid on its in-flight entertainment system (AVOD) and at the Incheon Airport lounge. A special article introducing the bid activities was also published in the in-flight magazine Morning Calm. In April, the airline assisted the BIE inspection team to ensure smooth air travel and cooperated to leave a good impression of Busan during the inspection. Korean Air plans to actively promote the justification for Busan's bid until the final host country is selected in November.
