65.1% Support Resignation, Higher Than Opposition
Journalists Association Also Conducting Vote on Resignation Support
It has been revealed that 6 out of 10 KBS PDs believe that President Kim Eui-cheol should step down. On the 23rd, Dong-A Ilbo reported that the KBS PD Association conducted a mobile vote among 514 members, with 335 (65.1%) supporting his resignation. Those opposed numbered 179 (34.8%). The total membership is 731, making the voter turnout 70.3%.
The KBS PD Association is the KBS branch of the Korea PD Federation. It includes PDs from the first union, the conservative-leaning KBS Labor Union, and the second union, the progressive-leaning KCTU-affiliated Media Union KBS Headquarters. The KBS Reporters Association is also conducting a vote among its members from today until the 26th to ask for opinions on President Kim’s resignation.
