Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station Launches Drug Crime Prevention Campaign
The Women and Youth Division of Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju held a campaign on the 23rd at the square in front of Songjeong Station to raise awareness about the dangers of drug addiction and to promote prevention among citizens, including youth and women, in observance of the 37th 'International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.'
This campaign was conducted to prevent the recent surge in drug-related crimes among women and youth, as drugs have been spreading online without accurate medical information, often driven by curiosity, dieting, or attempts to improve concentration.
The campaign involved the Women and Youth Division of Gwangsan Police Station, the Physical Education and Character Education Department of Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, the Women and Children Division of Gwangsan District Office, and child protection agencies, who also distributed promotional materials to enhance the effectiveness of drug crime prevention.
