Moon Geum-ju, Former Jeonnam Vice Governor, Inspects Final Construction Site of Eastern Region Integrated Government Building
Jeonnam Province inspected the final construction site of the Eastern Integrated Government Building in Suncheon Sindae District, scheduled for completion in July.
They urged for safe and thorough construction management to ensure no setbacks during the relocation.
According to the province on the 22nd, Deputy Governor Moon Geum-ju visited the construction site of the Eastern New Government Building in Suncheon Sindae District to check the progress and encourage the officials involved.
Deputy Governor Moon received explanations on the progress and future schedule from the head of the construction project management team and urged safe and thorough construction management to ensure no setbacks during the relocation.
He stated, “The construction of the Eastern New Government Building will resolve administrative inconveniences for residents in the eastern region and serve as a stepping stone for the new leap of Jeonnam’s eastern area, which holds infinite potential for development in industry, culture, and tourism.”
The province is constructing the new government building by incorporating a future-oriented design concept and installing an eco-friendly atrium filled with nature at the center of the building, aiming to establish it as a new landmark of the region.
Additionally, a smart civil service office will be installed to allow residents of the eastern region to handle civil affairs without visiting the Jeonnam Provincial Government headquarters. Multipurpose large auditoriums, book cafes, and forest resting areas will also be provided as communication and relaxation spaces conveniently accessible to local residents.
Jeonnam Province has already received approval from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to upgrade the position of the Eastern Regional Headquarters Director to level 2. Following the organizational restructuring approved by the Jeonnam Provincial Council on the 16th, the current single bureau system will be expanded to a structure with three bureaus and one office.
