Seoul City Tried to Stop It... Inje Hakwon Announces "Baek Hospital Closure" (Comprehensive)
Final Decision at the Board Meeting on the 20th
Union "Cannot Accept"
The board of directors of Inje Academy, a school corporation, has decided to close Seoul Baik Hospital located in Jung-gu, Seoul.
On the afternoon of the 20th, Inje Academy held a board meeting at the Seoul Baik Hospital building and passed the 'Seoul Baik Hospital Closure Plan' proposed earlier this month by the management normalization task force (TF). After the board meeting, the corporation disclosed the meeting results to the union branch chiefs of Baik Hospitals in Seoul, Sanggye, Ilsan, and Busan (Busan, Haeundae) regions.
The union stated, "Today, the board unanimously passed the Baik Hospital closure plan." They added, "We proposed discussions on forming a consultative body to the board. We cannot accept the results. Today is not the end, and we will continue our struggle."

Prior to the board meeting, the Seoul Metropolitan Government issued a press release stating, "We will carefully consider designating Seoul Baik Hospital as an urban planning facility (comprehensive medical facility) to ensure its functions within the city center are continuously maintained, and we plan to proceed with the relevant procedures."
An urban planning facility refers to essential public facilities such as hospitals or schools designated by local governments. Once designated as an urban planning facility, buildings or facilities for other purposes cannot be constructed on the site. This move aims to block Inje Academy's plan to close Baik Hospital and develop the site for commercial use.
