On the 20th, Samsung Securities analyzed that the market's expectations for Brand X Corporation could fluctuate depending on the success of its currently early-stage entry into the Greater China market.
Brand X Corporation, established in 2017, started with the athleisure fashion brand 'Jeximix' and has diversified its product portfolio related to health, including cosmetics and diet foods, evolving into a comprehensive health and beauty company. In the fourth quarter of last year, it sold its beauty (nail) business and health application business to focus on the fashion business.
Choi Ji-ho, a researcher at Samsung Securities, stated in a report on the same day, “The sales of the fashion brand 'Jeximix' reached 46.8 billion KRW (21%), and operating profit was 4.9 billion KRW (26%), achieving both quantitative and qualitative growth exceeding 20% year-on-year in both domestic and overseas markets.” He explained, “Domestically, success in diversifying the fashion category led to growth in both average transaction value and sales volume. Overseas, although the contribution was small with about 7% of fashion sales, it showed remarkable performance with a 37% high growth in sales.”
In the first quarter of this year, Jeximix opened its first flagship stores in mainland China and Taiwan through partner companies. The entry of Jeximix into the Greater China market is at an early stage of business, and it is also true that there are limitations in guaranteeing success at this point.
However, researcher Choi Ji-ho explained, “Considering that global athleisure company Lululemon's sales in China grew by more than 79% and it ranked third in pre-sales during the China 618 online event, it is worth having expectations.”
He added, “Brand X Corporation has presented a guidance of 20% sales growth and 20 billion KRW operating profit for this year,” and analyzed, “This figure does not reflect the Greater China performance yet, so both performance and valuation expectations could change depending on the company's future performance in the Greater China market.”
