The project involves selecting vacant houses applied for by autonomous districts through a selection committee, purchasing the final target houses, and converting them into essential living infrastructure or community convenience facilities.
Most of the vacant houses selected this year are homes urgently requiring demolition (vacant house grade 4), and they are planned to be purchased in the second half of the year and developed into shared community spaces such as rest areas and parking lots.
Daejeon City plans to spend a total of 10 billion KRW (2 billion KRW annually) over five years until 2027, in cooperation with autonomous districts, to purchase and renovate vacant houses. The budget will be covered by 8 billion KRW from the city and 2 billion KRW from the districts.
