The Gyeongbuk Education Scholarship Association (Chairman Lim Jong-sik) awarded scholarships of 200,000 KRW each and scholarship certificates to six Janggok Middle School students who took the lead in promoting the heroes of the Nakdong River Battle during the Korean War (General Walker) at the Memorial Hall for National Defense and Peace (Chilgok), encouraging them.
This promotion of the Nakdong River Battle heroes began when Janggok Middle School (Chilgok) students, while researching for assignments on social media, came across information about General Walker and posted an article titled "Please Remember General Walker" along with photos on the Chilgok County Office website to publicize the general's achievements.
