A fire broke out on a Philippine passenger ship carrying over 100 people while sailing at sea, and rescue operations are underway.
According to the Associated Press, on the morning of the 18th (local time), a fire broke out on the M/V Esperansa Star, which was traveling from Siquijor Island in central Philippines toward Bohol Island to the northeast.
The ship was reported to have a total of 120 people on board, including 55 crew members and 65 passengers.

Photos and videos released by the local coast guard show a firefighting vessel approaching the passenger ship and spraying water to extinguish the flames. However, the condition of those on board has not been confirmed through the footage.
