Goheung-gun Supports Stable Settlement of Young Prospective Entrepreneurs

Selection of Young Prospective Entrepreneurs, Startup Support

Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 15th that it has finally selected eight prospective entrepreneurs as participants in the ‘Youth Startup Challenge Project’ and entrusted the Jeonnam Creative Economy Innovation Center to operate the project.

The ‘Youth Startup Challenge Project’ supports prospective young entrepreneurs who wish to start a business by helping their creative ideas connect to commercialization. Through new startups and job creation, the project has discovered and supported a total of 16 young entrepreneurs so far.

The eight prospective entrepreneurs supported this year have concretized their startup plans through a 2-night, 3-day program from April 25 to 27, which included ▲business model canvas practice ▲startup diagnosis and analysis ▲business plan establishment, based on creative ideas utilizing various local resources. They plan to realize their entrepreneurial dreams by receiving up to 18 million KRW per person in startup support funds.

The startup support funds will be used for necessary expenses such as interior design, product development costs, education and training fees, equipment purchases, and promotional marketing.

One young entrepreneur who received the highest evaluation for their startup idea proposed ‘Desserts and Handmade Cakes Using Goheung Yuzu,’ attracting attention. They plan to open their own store and launch ‘Goheung Yuzu Cream Puff Cookies’ filled with custard cream.

A county official stated, “We will continue to discover and promote various customized youth support projects for local young people to help them settle down stably, and we will do our best efforts.”

Meanwhile, Goheung-gun is implementing various youth support policies such as youth employment and startup support and follow-up programs, youth CEO marketing activation support, support for young successors in family businesses, and settlement support for young farmers and fishermen.
