Pohang Secondary Battery Industry Targets Global Market ... Participates in 'InterBattery Europe 2023'
Exclusive Promotion Center Operation ... Targeting the Global Secondary Battery Market
Leap to Global Secondary Battery Material Hub, Worldwide Promotion
From the 14th to the 16th, Pohang City is actively promoting its local secondary battery innovation industry to the global market by participating in 'InterBattery Europe 2023,' held in Munich, Germany.
'InterBattery Europe 2023' is the first overseas secondary battery exhibition hosted by InterBattery, which began in 2013 and has grown into South Korea's largest secondary battery exhibition. It aims to strengthen the competitiveness and industrial value of domestic battery companies to capture the global market.
At the Messe Munich exhibition center in Germany, Pohang City has independently set up a 'Secondary Battery Industry Promotion Pavilion' at 'InterBattery Europe 2023,' showcasing Pohang's industrial capabilities and competitiveness as it emerges as the largest production base for cathode materials, targeting the global market.
The city promoted its industrial ecosystem equipped with a full-cycle value chain of secondary battery materials?from raw materials to cathode materials and recycling?centered on leading companies such as EcoPro and POSCO Future M, and actively introduced Pohang's attractive investment environment to exhibition participants.
Additionally, together with Gyeongbuk Province, the city visited the local German secondary battery company STABL ENERGY on the 13th to explain Pohang's excellent secondary battery industry infrastructure and investment environment and to understand the trends in the European secondary battery industry.
Pohang City held meetings with domestic and international companies participating in the exhibition to discuss cooperation plans and signed an international cooperation agreement to establish a global battery standard platform, preparing for the global innovation special zone promoted by the government.
Furthermore, the city plans to contribute to the designation of a specialized advanced strategic industrial complex for secondary batteries, which it is pursuing with utmost effort, by promoting the excellent cathode material technologies and investment status held by companies and strengthening active investment attraction and cooperation with domestic and foreign companies and institutions.
If designated as an advanced strategic industrial complex, it is expected to gain momentum in attracting companies by receiving national support such as support for industrial complex infrastructure construction, expedited approval of production facilities, and tax benefits including tax credits.
