Boseong Maechun Scholarship Foundation Holds Scholarship Award Ceremony
Dreams and Hopes Delivered to 412 Elementary, Middle, and High School Students in the District
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that on the 13th, the Maechun Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Kim Yongmok) held the '2023 3rd Maechun Scholarship Foundation Scholarship Award Ceremony' to foster local talents.
The ceremony was held at the Davichi Condo in Boseong-gun and proceeded in the order of a traditional Korean music performance by the scholarship recipients before the event, a special lecture by broadcaster Lee Jeongheon, the scholarship award ceremony, and the sharing of Love Rice.
At this award ceremony, scholarships totaling 102 million KRW were given to 412 students attending kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools located in Boseong-gun, and 5,000 kg of Love Rice worth 12 million KRW was donated.
The scholarship recipients were students from 33 schools in Boseong-gun, focusing on vulnerable families such as single-parent and grandparent-headed households. Scholarships of 200,000 KRW each were awarded to 234 elementary and middle school students, while 178 students from Hoecheon Elementary, middle, and high schools received scholarships of 300,000 KRW each.
Instead of congratulatory flower wreaths, rice wreaths were received at the Love Rice sharing event, and the donated rice was added to the existing 5,000 kg. The rice was donated to 14 local children's centers, Boseong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Boseong-gun Disabled Welfare Center, Boseong-gun Senior Welfare Center, and local senior citizen centers and other social welfare facilities.
Kim Yongmok, chairman of the Maechun Scholarship Foundation, who presented the scholarships that day, said, "Supporting children's dreams and hopes is a proper duty of adults," and added, "We will continue to donate scholarships so that Boseong-gun students can grow into leaders who will lead the next generation."
Meanwhile, the Maechun Scholarship Foundation, established in accordance with the will of Maechun Kim Changsik, former postmaster of Hoecheon Post Office, is a scholarship organization that annually awards scholarships to students attending elementary, middle, and high schools in Boseong-gun, and this year marks its third ceremony.
