Samsung and LG Infocom Participate in 2023... Signage Ideal for Content Filming Unveiled (Comprehensive)
North America's Largest Display Exhibition Held from 14th to 16th
Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will participate in InfoComm 2023, North America's largest display exhibition, held in Orlando for three days starting on the 14th (local time), showcasing new technologies in commercial displays (signage). They will unveil a large number of signage optimized for various virtual production-based content creation, including AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality), and XR (Extended Reality).
Samsung Electronics prominently introduced ‘The Wall for Virtual Production,’ a virtual production studio-exclusive product. ‘The Wall for Virtual Production’ can be manufactured to wrap an entire video production studio in a flat or up to 6000R curvature elliptical shape, making it ideal for content shooting. It supports not only the image quality necessary for content production, such as ▲a maximum refresh rate of 12,288 Hz ▲maximum brightness of 1500 nits ▲fixed contrast ratio of 35,000:1 ▲maximum 170-degree wide viewing angle ▲video signal synchronization between the screen and camera, but also convenience features.
They also unveiled the 2023 smart signage product lineup. A total of 20 new models are introduced, including five QHC series with 700 nits brightness, eight QMC series with 500 nits, and seven QBC series with 350 nits. The new products are 28.5 mm thick, more than 40% thinner than previous models, with slim bezels on all four sides. They also support 4K high-resolution, minimized light reflection, Tizen 7.0 operating system (OS), and simultaneous wireless connection of up to six IT devices.
Samsung Electronics is also debuting a new all-in-one LED screen with an integrated design called ‘LED All-in-One.’ The new product features a 16:9 aspect ratio with a 130-inch Full HD resolution. It supports a slim 56 mm design, maximum brightness of 1000 nits, and a high refresh rate of 3840 Hz. It can be installed immediately by hanging it on the wall.
LG Electronics installed the 272-inch (approximately 6.9 m diagonal) ultra-large micro LED signage ‘LG Magnite’ with 8K resolution at the entrance of its 966㎡ exhibition hall, allowing visitors to enjoy media art works expressing the beauty and mystery of nature as soon as they enter.
Inside the exhibition hall, LG showcases a diverse lineup of LG Magnite ranging from 136-inch models suitable for premium home cinema to 272-inch 8K resolution models. LG Magnite boasts bright and clear image quality as well as a wide viewing angle that vividly displays content even from the sides. Notably, this exhibition also unveils the 163-inch LG Magnite for the first time, which separates the power supply and screen for easier management.
Visitors can also experience LG Magnite optimized for content production that simultaneously films actors’ performances in front of virtual backgrounds implemented on ultra-large displays. The LG Magnite for virtual production, launched last month, applies customized technology that vividly expresses colors and considers filming environments, making installation convenient.
Various unique experiences with transparent OLED signage are available throughout the exhibition hall. A large video wall composed of about 20 units of 55-inch transparent OLED signage along one wall offers not only clear OLED image quality but also reveals the exhibition hall beyond the screen as if the wall has disappeared. Additionally, in a store concept exhibition space, transparent OLED is used to showcase display cases that simultaneously present product information and the actual products.
