Gyeonggi-do Publishes Safety Environment Creation Project Work Manual
Gyeonggi Province has published a manual for the 'Safety Environment Creation Project' aimed at establishing safety facilities.
The Safety Environment Creation Project involves identifying and improving potential hazards in daily life, including ▲creating safety facilities on school routes and in front of schools (such as yellow traffic lights and yellow carpets) ▲installing automatic saline spray devices to prevent winter slip-and-fall accidents ▲applying anti-slip pavement on slopes ▲installing safety logo lights, among others.
This year, Gyeonggi Province is investing 8.8 billion KRW to carry out 76 safety environment creation projects across 31 cities and counties.
The target locations were pre-selected by the 31 cities and counties based on areas with a high frequency of accidents.
Gyeonggi Province provides guidance, advice, and on-site consulting for these target locations regarding the environmental creation projects. To offer detailed information on the annual project schedule, procedures, exemplary cases, and major non-compliance issues, the province has published this manual. The publication will be distributed to cities, counties, and departments wishing to implement the projects.
Additionally, Gyeonggi Province will conduct a demand survey for next year’s Safety Environment Creation Project by the 30th of this month, and will support 50% of the project costs for selected projects. Cities and counties wishing to receive support should submit the relevant documents via official correspondence.
