Samsung Electronics Introduces Partial Four-Day Workweek... Works Four Days Once a Month
Monthly Off-Day System Implemented Starting This Month
Samsung Electronics will implement a partial four-day workweek once a month starting this month.
According to industry sources on the 12th, Samsung Electronics will introduce a new "mid-month day off" system from this month, allowing employees to take one day off each month if they meet the required monthly working hours. Accordingly, Samsung Electronics employees, excluding production workers on the 4-shift 3-team system, can take a day off on the Friday of the week that includes the 21st, the monthly payday.
This is part of the results from the labor-management council announced by Samsung Electronics in April and will be implemented for the first time this month. The labor-management council is a body where employer representatives and employee representatives negotiate working conditions such as wages.
