Busan Health University Professor Park Hee-jin Hosts Photo Exhibition of 6·25 War Veterans
A photo exhibition of Korean War veterans by Professor Park Hee-jin from the Department of Social Welfare at Busan Health College will be held from the 13th at the cultural mediation space ‘Ssam Gallery’ in Suyeong Subway Station.
This photo exhibition by Professor Park Hee-jin was organized to mark the 70th anniversary of the armistice, aiming to make the public reflect once again on the fading memory of the Korean War. The exhibition features photos of about 70 veterans residing in the Busan area.

View original imageProfessor Park said, “In the fall of 2019, I happened to meet a Korean War veteran wearing a medal on his chest at Busan Station, which led me to prepare this photo exhibition,” adding, “I wanted to let people know that the veterans of the fading Korean War are still part of our daily lives.”
She continued, “Currently, there are about 2,700 surviving Korean War veterans in Busan,” and added, “Starting with this exhibition, I plan to continue photographing Korean War veterans living in Busan.”

During the exhibition period, on the 17th at 2 p.m., a live broadcast titled ‘My Experience of the Korean War and 70 Years of Time’ will be streamed on YouTube’s Park Hee-jin TV at the Ssam Gallery site. The exhibition will be closed every Monday and is scheduled to run until the 30th.
