Gyeongnam Nonghyup Steps Up to Help Onion Farmers with Labor Shortage
Gyeongnam Nonghyup visited onion farms in Ingok-ri, Hapcheon-eup, Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam on the 12th to help farmers experiencing labor shortages during the harvest season.
More than 60 people participated in this labor assistance, including No Soon-hyun, head of the Hapcheon-gun branch, Na Sang-jung, chairman of Hapcheon Nonghyup, and the Hapcheon Nonghyup Hometown Housewives Association, working together on the onion harvest.
Employees of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation are visiting onion farming households to help with rural work.

Gyeongnam Nonghyup has designated the period from May to June as an intensive rural labor assistance period to coincide with the garlic and onion harvest seasons, and has been continuously providing labor support. Employees of the entire Nonghyup organization actively participate to help farmers struggling with labor shortages.
Farmer Ji Mi-jung said, “During the peak onion harvest season, labor costs are rising and it is difficult to secure workers, so I was worried that the harvest might be delayed, but timely help from Nonghyup has been a great support.”
