Dongjak-gu Opens Sadang Public Parking Lot... Free Access Until July 5
65 Spaces Created at Sadang-dong 1042-22 and Sadang-dong 1044-15, Official Operation Starts July 7
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Ilha) has created 65 public parking spaces at two locations in the Sadang area, where parking was insufficient, and will conduct a pilot operation from the 12th before officially opening on July 7.
The area is within 100 meters of Sadang Station, a transit hub lacking public parking lots, resulting in frequent illegal parking and high traffic congestion.
The newly created parking lots are located at ▲Sadang-dong 1042-22 (40 spaces) and ▲Sadang-dong 1044-15 (25 spaces), utilizing idle private land.
Dongjak-gu signed an agreement with the landowners, providing property tax exemption incentives to them under the condition of free use for more than one year.
The parking lots will be open free of charge during the pilot operation period from the 12th to July 5, with fees applied starting July 7 when official operation begins.
An unmanned parking system is installed and operated, with a fee of 400 KRW per 5 minutes. Customers using stores within the commercial area can park for free for up to one hour.
During the pilot operation period, promotional efforts will be made regarding parking fee discounts for nearby store customers to revitalize the commercial area.
The district is also creating resident-priority parking lots using leftover land to alleviate parking difficulties in densely populated residential areas.
These are located at ▲Noryangjin-dong 310-65 (11 spaces) and ▲Sadang-dong 1048-39 (5 spaces), where an ‘IoT sharing sensor’ will be installed to allow others to use parking spaces when assigned residents are not using them.
Dongjak-gu Facilities Management Corporation will operate these lots on consignment. The monthly fee for resident-priority parking is 65,000 KRW, with shared parking costing 1,200 KRW per hour and an additional 600 KRW per 30 minutes.
