Yangcheon-gu Opens 'VR Tour Service' Without Time and Space Constraints
Utilizing Virtual Reality Technology to Provide 360° Stereoscopic Images of 41 Cultural, Sports, and Leisure Facilities in the District
Operation Begins on the District Office Website on the 12th, Allowing Indirect Viewing of Facilities and Checking Usage and Location Information with a Single Click
Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that starting from the 12th, it will launch the ‘Yangcheon Virtual Reality (VR) Tour Service’ on the district office website, enabling residents to comfortably and vividly explore major local attractions such as parks and walking trails with just one click, without any time or space constraints. This service covers 41 cultural, sports, and leisure facilities.
The newly released ‘Yangcheon Virtual Reality (VR) Tour Service’ was built by matching and extracting information for each facility with VR images, based on 9,571 pieces of public data previously constructed from a comprehensive survey of cultural, sports, and leisure facilities conducted in January.
The main facilities in the district available for VR viewing include a total of 41 locations across six categories: ▲16 parks ▲4 walking trails ▲8 landmarks and cultural heritage sites ▲3 cultural facilities ▲9 sports facilities ▲1 library facility. Notably, the district reprocessed 7,032 existing VR images, which were originally flat, into 360° stereoscopic images, creating continuous scenes that vividly reflect the sense of being on-site.
Visitors can click on arrows displayed on the VR images to explore spaces by floor and panoramic views by section in a three-dimensional manner. In addition, they can check the current status and operational information of each facility, as well as precise location information using latitude and longitude coordinates on the map.
To ensure easy access for residents, the district posted the VR tour content on the district office website starting on the 12th. Residents wishing to view the facilities can conveniently enjoy the tour anytime online or via mobile by accessing the ‘Cultural, Sports, and Leisure Facilities VR Tour’ on the district office website.
