The Hamanhacheon National Movement Headquarters is a collaborative organization involving figures from various sectors to expand the "Harumanbo Harucheonja" campaign, promoted by Asia Economy in 2023 as part of a nationwide brain health project, into a national movement. It is based on a shared recognition that, with the advent of a super-aged society expected by 2025, the most desirable approach to promote the practice of the Hamanhacheon movement for public health and national cost reduction is through a public-private national movement.
The Hamanhacheon movement encourages daily walking and writing to prepare for a healthy centenarian era. Walking and writing have been proven through domestic and international research to be the easiest ways to maintain brain health in daily life. Especially as COVID-19 transitions to an endemic phase, the central and local governments have been hosting walking events and developing various walking-related programs. These activities have become a new trend in ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) in both public and private sectors, increasing the necessity of the Hamanhacheon national movement.
