Hyundai Engineering Collaborates with Korea Midland Power on Hydrogen Production Project Using Water Electrolysis
Hyundai Engineering announced on the 9th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korea Midland Power to cooperate on a hydrogen production project utilizing water electrolysis.

The signing ceremony held at Hyundai Engineering headquarters was attended by Im Gwan-seop, Executive Director of Hyundai Engineering (Head of Plant Business Division), Park Young-gyu, Vice President of Korea Midland Power (Head of Technology and Safety Division), and others, who discussed the future direction of the project.
Hyundai Engineering will oversee the facility planning and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) tasks for the hydrogen production project carried out through the cooperation of the two companies. Korea Midland Power will focus on overall project operation and securing the business model related to the project.

A Hyundai Engineering official stated, “In addition to the hydrogen production project, we are actively investing in and continuously researching and developing eco-friendly and energy sectors such as small and micro modular nuclear power plants, offshore wind power, solar power, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.” He added, “We expect to play an important role in revitalizing the hydrogen economy and achieving ‘2050 Carbon Neutrality.’”
