The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) has deployed 32 personnel to investigate preferential hiring of children at the National Election Commission (NEC). The on-site investigation period has been set at 38 days, but they stated it may be extended if necessary.

On the 9th, Jeong Seung-yoon, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the ACRC, said at a press briefing held at the Government Seoul Office in Jongno-gu, Seoul, "We have formed a special investigation team of 32 members, including ACRC’s professional investigators and personnel dispatched from the Ministry of Personnel Management and the National Police Agency," adding, "We will focus on investigating hiring irregularities over the past seven years."
The special investigation team related to this allegation consists of a team leader, deputy team leader, general planning manager, investigation general manager, case general manager, 21 professional investigators from the ACRC, and 2 and 4 personnel dispatched from the Ministry of Personnel Management and the National Police Agency respectively, totaling 32 members. Vice Chairman Jeong stated, "We want to inform the public that the ACRC has mobilized all available material and human resources," and added, "Since we need to investigate a total of 18 locations including the central and local NEC offices, we requested personnel dispatch." He continued, "The exact timing of the investigation results announcement will be known once the investigation progresses," and added, "If necessary, we will extend the investigation period."
They also plan to operate a focused reporting period for one month. Vice Chairman Jeong said, "Various reports related to the NEC have recently been received," and added, "We hope this opportunity will help root out all corrupt practices that the NEC has had." He also explained, "The reporting period was set to 30 days because we thought it would be good to announce it together with the hiring irregularities investigation."
