SPC Samlip has applied eco-friendly packaging certified as green to about 1,600 items including Pokemon Bread, Sanrio Bread, and Samlip Steamed Buns. The packaging incorporates eco-friendly manufacturing technology that maintains color clarity without using substances such as methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) and toluene, and the use of this packaging will be continuously expanded to be applied to all products in the future.
Additionally, eco-friendly packaging produced using flexographic printing, known as green printing, has been applied to Samlip Steamed Buns, Mini Honey Yakgwa, and others. Unlike traditional gravure printing, flexographic printing uses raised printing with highly safe water-based inks, saving more than 40% of ink compared to previous methods, and reducing the annual use of about 45 tons of ink and harmful organic solvents. It has been applied to over 140 items so far, and the number of items using this method is planned to increase by more than 50% by the end of this year.
