"Improving Environmental Protection Awareness"... Kyobo Life Insurance Receives Commendation from Minister of Environment
Kyobo Life Insurance was recognized for its efforts in raising awareness about environmental protection and received a commendation from the Minister of Environment.
On the morning of the 8th, Kyobo Life Insurance announced that it was the only company to receive the Minister of Environment’s Commendation for Contributions to Environmental Education at the 19th Korea Environmental Education Festival, hosted by the Ministry of Environment at Haenggu Riverside Park in Wonju, Gangwon Province.
Kyobo Life Insurance was acknowledged for its contributions including ▲promoting environmental education to improve awareness and protect the environment ▲leading ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management practices such as carbon neutrality efforts. A Ministry of Environment official explained the selection background, stating, "Kyobo Life Insurance was chosen for the award due to its significant contributions, such as actively engaging in community environmental education as part of its social contribution activities and leading efforts to achieve carbon neutrality."
Previously, Kyobo Life Insurance has worked with the Ministry of Environment to promote environmental education and emphasize carbon neutrality. As part of strengthening ESG management, the company supported over 6,000 environmental hope trees to impoverished farming households in Vietnam under the names of employees who completed environmental protection training. At the end of last year, it donated about 3,000 reusable items including clothing, books, and daily necessities, achieving approximately 7 tons of carbon reduction.
This year, Kyobo Life Insurance plans to further intensify these environmental education social contribution projects. Starting from Environment Day and Environmental Education Week on the 5th, it has already launched four major environmental education campaigns for the public. Upcoming plans include an environmental book concert this month, a short video contest on global citizen environmental education in September, and an environmental education festival in October.
