Principals in Wondosim and Seobusan Areas Enhance Capabilities in Educational Welfare Projects
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is conducting the ‘2023 Training to Enhance the Educational Welfare Competency of School Administrators for Improving Educational Capacity’ for about 200 principals of elementary and middle schools in the original downtown and western Busan areas.
This training aims to increase school administrators’ understanding and competency regarding the Educational Welfare Priority Support Project to operate the project stably and effectively. It will be held on the 9th at 1:20 PM at the Sohyang Art Hall in the New Millennium Hall of Dongseo University.
At the training, Jo Won-hwan, the officer in charge of reducing educational disparities between regions at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, will provide guidance on the project to reduce educational disparities between regions.
Following this, Professor Jung Kyu-seok from the Department of Social Welfare at Kyungsung University will give a lecture. Professor Jung is expected to cover topics such as ‘Understanding the Student-Customized Integrated Support System and Educational Welfare Safety Net’ and ‘Understanding and Development Directions of the Educational Welfare Priority Support Project.’
Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “For providing customized integrated support to students in need, it is crucial for school administrators to understand and take interest in the project. This training will serve as a foundation to enhance administrators’ understanding and operational capacity, helping to eliminate educational disparities in the original downtown and western Busan areas.”
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is striving to provide student-customized support and equal educational opportunities through case management of enrolled students and educational welfare support tailored to individual growth at 454 elementary and middle schools in the district.

Additionally, it is implementing various educational welfare projects such as designating and operating a leading school (Choryang Elementary School) and a pilot education support office (Southern District) to establish a one-stop student-customized integrated support system, operating a student case management support group, and building educational welfare councils by region.
