The son of the chairman of a famous golf resort, who was sentenced to prison for illegally filming sexual encounters with women, has been additionally indicted on charges including child prostitution and drug use.
According to the legal community on the 7th, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's Women's and Children's Crime Investigation Division 1 (Chief Prosecutor Kim Eun-mi) announced that on the 31st of last month, they indicted Kwon Mo (40), a director of A Golf Resort, along with his secretary and three others, on charges including violation of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, the Youth Protection Act, and the Narcotics Control Act.
Kwon is accused of illegally filming and possessing footage of sexual encounters 68 times between 2017 and 2021, and storing over 30 illegally filmed materials taken between 2013 and 2016. He is also charged with engaging in prostitution 51 times, including so-called 'VVIP prostitution' targeting university students and aspiring models, and twice in October 2021 with minors. Investigations revealed that Kwon used drugs such as ketamine and ecstasy during the commission of these crimes. Kwon's secretary and prostitution facilitators assisted in his crimes. Secretary Jang Mo (22) was indicted for arranging prostitution involving minors for Kwon (violation of the Prostitution Punishment Act), and another secretary, Sung Mo (36), was indicted for using ecstasy with Kwon in October 2021 (violation of the Narcotics Control Act).
Kim Mo (43) and Cha Mo (26), who operated high-end prostitution establishments, were caught by prosecutors for introducing women such as entertainment bar employees to men, including Kwon, who wanted prostitution services between 2019 and 2022 (violation of the Prostitution Punishment Act).
After previously detaining and indicting Kwon in December 2021 on some charges including illegal filming, the prosecutors received the remaining cases and conducted supplementary investigations including raids and account tracking, confirming additional crimes by Kwon and others. Prosecutors have detained and indicted Kim, the operator who arranged 'VVIP prostitution' for Kwon, while the other four, including Kwon whose sentence was already finalized, were indicted without detention.
