Jeong Yoon-ji started from a tie for 13th place, 3 strokes behind, and racked up 9 birdies (1 bogey). She shook off the shock of missing the cut last week at the E1 Charity Open, where she competed as the defending champion. Leading by 2 strokes, she is poised for her second career win in a year.
Jeong said, "I went to singer Taemin's concert and fan meeting, and thinking about how much effort he put in made me determined to work harder," adding, "After missing the cut in last week's title defense, I changed my mindset and got good results." She continued, "I'm happy to have a good result after a long time," and said, "There are some shot mistakes coming out little by little, but I will improve them and do well in the remaining two days. I want to win."
