On the 1st (local time), Im Sung-jae posted a 2-under-par 70 in the first round of the Memorial Tournament, a prestigious event on the PGA Tour with a total prize of $20 million, held at Muirfield Village Golf Club (par 72, 7,571 yards) in Dublin, Ohio, USA. He is tied for 10th place. Davis Riley (USA) leads at 5-under-par 67, Matt Wallace is second at 4-under-par 68, and as many as seven players including Danny Willett (England) and Jordan Spieth (USA) are tied for third at 3-under-par 69.
Sungjae Im started the Memorial Tournament Round 1 with 2 under par, tied for 10th place.

After struggling with 1-over-par through 14 holes, he showed a strong finish with a birdie on the 6th hole (par 4) and an eagle on the 7th hole (par 5). He relied on his long drives averaging 312.7 yards and a fairway hit rate of 78.57%. He is three strokes behind the leader, laying the groundwork for his third PGA Tour victory. Most importantly, it is encouraging that he has escaped the slump of missing the cut in two consecutive tournaments.
