Jeju Air Introduces Lift Cars for Mobility-Impaired Passengers... "Improving Travel Convenience"
Jeju Air announced on the 2nd that it will introduce and operate lift cars to assist passengers with mobility impairments, such as wheelchair users, in boarding aircraft.
Jeju Air operates a 'Wheelchair Mobility Service' for passengers who require wheelchairs during travel. If requested through the Jeju Air Customer Center at least 48 hours before the flight departure, passengers can use services such as ▲wheelchair rental at the airport ▲checked electric wheelchairs ▲priority allocation of boarding gates.
Until now, when wheelchair passengers wanted to board an aircraft, the flight was assigned to a boarding gate in advance, or if assigning a boarding gate was inevitably difficult, they boarded with the help of ground handling staff. In this process, safety concerns such as unavoidable physical contact and falls due to obstacles were raised.
Accordingly, Jeju Air plans to improve its services by introducing the 'Mobility-Impaired Lift Car' service so that wheelchair passengers can board aircraft safely and conveniently even in situations where boarding gate allocation is difficult.
