Namhae-gun Coastal Beaches to Open on July 7
Decision to Set Separate Entry Zones for Companion Dogs
Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam held a beach council meeting and decided the opening period for local beaches to be from July 7 to August 20, while also resolving important matters related to beach operations.
The Namhae-gun Beach Council (Sangju Eunmoraebichi, Songjeong Solbaram Beach, Seolli Beach, Dugok, Wolpo Beach, Sachon Beach) decided the opening hours to be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, Sangju Eunmoraebichi will have night openings until 9 p.m. from July 27 to August 15, continuing from last year.
Notably, the meeting drew attention for deciding to designate separate areas for dogs at all beaches.
In a situation where opinions on bringing dogs are sharply divided, the Namhae-gun Beach Council presented a proactive solution in line with changing times. This decision differentiated itself from other regions that generally prohibit dogs.
