It Appears That a Meeting with a Senior Chinese Official Will Take Place
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, visited China for the first time in three years.
According to major foreign media including Bloomberg, Musk's private jet arrived in Beijing, China on the 30th. He is expected to meet with senior Chinese government officials and visit Tesla's factory in Shanghai.
Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said during a briefing that when asked for comments on Musk's visit to China, "China has welcomed business figures from various countries, including Musk, to come to China to directly understand China and promote mutually beneficial cooperation."
When asked whether senior Chinese officials would meet with Musk, spokesperson Mao responded, "If there is any news, it will be announced immediately," and added, "Please continue to pay attention."
Musk's last visit to China was in January 2020.
