Gwangju Nam-gu Accelerates Establishment of Facility Corporation by First Half of Next Year
Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will proceed with the establishment of a facilities corporation targeting the first half of next year, following the conclusion that the establishment of the corporation is feasible in the 'Feasibility Study for the Establishment of Nam-gu Facilities Corporation' conducted by the Local Public Enterprise Evaluation Institute under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
According to Nam-gu on the 30th, the Local Public Enterprise Evaluation Institute recently delivered the results of the feasibility and appropriateness review service for the establishment of the Nam-gu Facilities Corporation, conducted from October 24 last year to May 21 this year, to the Nam-gu Office.
The Local Public Enterprise Evaluation Institute judged that establishing a facilities corporation for the professional integrated management of seven public facilities in the district, efficient operation of personnel and budget, and provision of high-quality services is appropriate in terms of project suitability, feasibility, and cost-benefit analysis.
The projects reviewed for feasibility and appropriateness in this service included a total of seven areas: public parking lots in the district, Nam-gu General Office Building, multipurpose gymnasium, Bongseon Tennis Court, Yangnim-dong Penguin Village Craft Street, designated banner posting stands, and the sale of designated bags for volume-based waste disposal and payment certificates for food waste.
The review results showed that all seven target projects are appropriate and possess sufficient economic feasibility to reduce the budget.
Nam-gu decided to accelerate the steps for establishing the facilities corporation as the legal feasibility of the corporation's establishment, along with improvements in local fiscal balance and effectiveness, have been proven.
To this end, a public hearing for residents will be held next month, and by the end of this year, consultations with Gwangju City and the establishment review committee will be held to finalize procedures such as ordinance enactment.
