Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Health Center Expands Operation of 'Visiting Korean Medicine Clinic'
Providing 'Age-Appropriate Health Care'... Expected to Support Citizens' Healthy Lives
Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Park Byeong-gyu) will expand the operation of the "Visiting Korean Medicine Clinic" starting in June.
According to Gwangsan-gu on the 30th, the "Health Dream, Visiting Korean Medicine Clinic" is being operated to support local residents with health issues in preventing and managing chronic diseases. Until now, due to COVID-19, 1:1 medical services were provided by visiting each household directly.
Starting next month, the clinic will visit unregistered senior centers, welfare centers, senior centers, and local children's centers with low medical accessibility. The number of visits, which was three times a week, will be increased to five times a week to allow more local residents to receive the service.
In particular, the Gwangsan-gu Public Health Center has comprehensively selected targets ranging from children and adolescents unfamiliar with Korean medicine to elderly people familiar with it. Depending on the age group, they provide acupuncture, moxibustion, as well as smoking cessation acupuncture, growth acupuncture, and Korean medicine health education.
