Police Officer Demanded Sex and Committed Molestation After Resolving Child's Case
The Women's and Children's Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor An Seong-hee) indicted Kim, a police lieutenant in his 50s, without detention on the 26th on charges of molesting a person involved in the case.
According to the prosecution, Lieutenant Kim, who was working at the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul last December, is accused of forcibly touching the victim's hands and feet and demanding private meetings and sexual relations under the pretext of resolving his child's case (forcible molestation).
The misconduct was revealed when the victim reported it to the media and police in January this year. The victim also filed a complaint with the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office in the same month.
At that time, based on the victim's report including cellphone recordings, the police concluded that Lieutenant Kim had engaged in inappropriate conduct related to his duties and suspended him from his position.
