On this day, the Gyeonggi Safety Experience Center provided conveniences such as sign language and text interpretation, as well as Braille services, to help disabled students receive safety experience education more easily and conveniently. In addition, special education tailored to each type of disability was conducted using mission-based methods such as role-playing for different situations.
Furthermore, the center's mascots, 'Yeong-i' and 'Woong-i,' participated in roles appropriate to disaster situations to help students engage more familiarly in the education. A fire truck photo zone was especially set up, and souvenirs were provided.
The center designates one day each quarter as Disability Safety Experience Day to guarantee the right to safety for people with disabilities and to provide more equitable educational opportunities. Special education is conducted for four types of disabilities: hearing, visual, physical, and intellectual disabilities.
In particular, to strengthen teaching capabilities, instructors recently completed sign language training to provide better services. Wheelchairs and other facilities are also placed inside the center to actively assist the convenience of people with disabilities.
