Depression Gallery 'SillimPaem' 20s Male Arrested for "Fear of Evidence Tampering"
A member of the 'Sillimpam' group, accused of luring and threatening minors, has been detained. Sillimpam is a group formed by users who met on the internet site DC Inside's 'Depression Gallery.'
On the 26th, the Seoul Central District Court conducted a pre-arrest detention hearing (warrant review) for a man in his 20s, Mr. A, who is accused of violating the Missing Children Act, the Narcotics Control Act, and making threats, and issued an arrest warrant citing "concerns over evidence tampering."
The Seoul Gwanak Police Station applied for Mr. A's arrest warrant on the same day. According to the police, Mr. A is accused of keeping a minor victim, who had run away and was reported missing, at his residence in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, and not sending them home. He is also charged with drug use and threatening his minor partner.
The police plan to continue investigating the suspicions surrounding Sillimpam, including sexual exploitation.
