Dongjak-gu, Promoting Reduction of Sewage Odor in Daily Life
Dongjak-gu Launches Project to Reduce Sewage Odor in Daily Life... "Odor ZERO"
Facility improvements and installation of prevention equipment at major odor sources targeted by 2026
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Ilha) is starting the "Sewage Odor Reduction Project" this month to reduce odors in daily life and create a pleasant living environment.
First, based on the survey results under the comprehensive odor reduction plan by 2026, the district will focus on improving 10 areas selected as having high odor concentrations.
This year, starting with the area of Sangdo 2-dong (Sangdo Station Lotte Castle Park L Apartment) where installations were completed this month, the district plans to install adsorption decomposition type and spray type devices in the sections of Sadang 1-dong (Sadang Station to Namseong Middle School) and Sindaebang 2-dong (Boramae Park) by August.
The "Pole-type Adsorption Decomposition Odor Reduction Device" absorbs odors emitted from manholes and rainwater inlets, while the "Spray-type Odor Reduction Facility" purifies by spraying water on the upper part of the sewage box.
Last year, the district installed six "Pole-type Adsorption Decomposition Odor Reduction Devices" in the Sadang 3-dong area and completed installation of four "Spray-type Odor Reduction Facilities" in the Daebang-dong area.
Additionally, the district plans to continuously analyze odor concentration trends and actively reflect highly efficient reduction methods in the project plan with the goal of Odor ZERO by 2026.
