Attention to Korea's Top Rafting Destination
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 26th that it conducted water leisure safety education to prevent water play accidents during the summer season.
About 20 people, including representatives from local rafting companies, attended the training held in the county office's main conference room. The education was conducted by Sancheong-gun officials, Sancheong Police Station, and water leisure instructors, each responsible for their respective fields.
The main training topics included compliance requirements for water leisure operators, traffic law compliance and precautions when moving boats, and how to use water leisure safety equipment.
In particular, the training emphasized thorough preparation for water leisure safety accidents during the peak season.
An official from the county said, “The Gyeonghogang River in Sancheong, boasting pristine natural scenery, offers optimal conditions for enjoying rafting,” adding, “We will do our best to manage water play safety so that visitors to Sancheong-gun can enjoy water activities safely.”
According to the Gyeonghogang Rafting Association, as the heat continues recently, inquiries for rafting experience reservations have been increasing. The Gyeonghogang River in Sancheong is considered one of the top rafting spots in Korea due to its outstanding natural scenery.
With fast currents and no whirlpools (沼), it is an ideal place to enjoy rafting. Additionally, various programs such as survival games and all-terrain vehicle (ATV) experiences are operated amidst the magnificent landscapes of Jirisan and Ungseokbong, attracting many tourists.
